Central Coast Web Design ("we," "us," "our") is a small web design business based in Guadalupe, California (Santa Barbara County). This policy explains what personal information we collect throughcentralcoast-webdesign.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep this short because we collect very little.
The short version
- We collect only what you type into our contact form (or send us by email or phone).
- We use it to reply to you. That's it.
- We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not run advertising, tracking pixels, or analytics cookies on this site.
- You can ask us to see, fix, or delete your information at any time.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit our contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The plan you're interested in (optional)
- The message you write
We receive the same information if you email or call us. Please do not include sensitive information in your message, such as Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, passwords, or health information. We never need them to start a conversation.
Information collected automatically
Our website host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs (for example, your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and timestamps) to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use these logs to identify or profile visitors.
Our site search runs in your browser. What you type into it isn't sent to us or to any third party.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and discuss your project.
- To prepare proposals and, if you become a client, to provide our services.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We won't add you to a mailing list or send marketing email unless you ask us to.
Who handles your information
We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. We use the following service providers only to run the site and deliver your message to us:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS Simple Email Service) to email your contact form message to us.
- Netlify to host the website and run the function that processes the contact form.
- Our email provider to receive and store the messages that reach our inbox.
We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to see how our site appears in Google Search, such as which search terms lead to our pages and whether any pages have errors. It reports aggregated search data from Google to us. It does not place any code or cookies on your browser from our site, and it does not tell us who individual visitors are. Google crawls and indexes our public pages on its own, and handles its data under theGoogle Privacy Policy.
Cookies and tracking
We do not set cookies and we do not use analytics, advertising, or social media tracking tools on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy and add any notice or choice the law requires before the change takes effect.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: Because we don't track you across websites, there is nothing to turn off. Nonetheless, we treat Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals as a request not to sell or share your information, which we don't do anyway. We don't allow third parties to collect personal information about your activity on our site for their own use.
How long we keep information
Inquiries that don't lead to a project are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. If you become a client, we keep your project and billing records for as long as the relationship lasts and for up to seven years afterward for tax and legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see below), subject to those legal requirements.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to your messages to the people who need them. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your California privacy rights
As a small business we may fall below the thresholds that make the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) apply to us. We extend these rights to every California resident anyway:
- Know: the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected about you, where it came from, why we collect it, and who we disclose it to.
- Delete: ask us to delete the personal information we've collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct: ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Opt out of sale or sharing: we don't sell or share personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Limit use of sensitive information: we don't request or use sensitive personal information.
- No retaliation: we won't treat you differently for using these rights.
Categories collected in the past 12 months:identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address in host logs), commercial information (the plan you're interested in), and the content of your message. We collect them directly from you (and IP addresses from your browser) for the business purposes described above, and we disclose them only to the service providers listed above.
How to make a request: emailalan.r.cuenca@gmail.comor call(805) 354-8830. We may ask for information to confirm it's you, such as the email address you used to contact us. We'll respond within 45 days. You may also use an authorized agent, and we may ask for proof of their authority.
California "Shine the Light" law: We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
Children's privacy
Our site and services are for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Links to other sites
Our pages may link to other websites, such as Instagram or our clients' sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll notify you by email where we have your address.
